GRENACHE TERRITORY

The Grenache, a treasure

The typical Campo de Borja P.D.O. variety is a Grenache (red and white), a grape prized all over the world for its complexity and aromas. We find old vineyards that are around 30 to 50 years old. Although output is low, the quality of the Grenache we grow here is recognised worldwide.

In addition, and although to a lesser extent, we have other varieties that give our coupage a very special personality: Tempranillo, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Macabeo, Chardonnay, Muscat of Alexandria, Muscat Blanc and Verdejo.

At the foot of the Moncayo

Moncayo is a 2,314 m high mountain overlooking the whole of Aragon, it’s the main geographical landmark in the region and lends a special character to our wines. Borja lies between the Iberian system and the Ebro Valley. It starts at the Somontano del Moncayo and goes down to the Rio Huecha Valley and the so-called Plasencia planes.

A Simply Perfect Place

El Cierzo wind, that wind that we feel is our very own and shapes a whole succession of plateaus and the personality of our wines. Cool and dry, it gives our continental climate a Mediterranean influence. A climate of contrasts: from day and night, winter and summer… A very particular climate that gives our wines unique and different characteristics.
