The Winery

Here we make our wine. At facilities equipped with the most modern technology making it possible to guarantee quality control. In our vinification rooms our stainless steel tanks are set up with temperature-controlled fermentation equipment and reach a total capacity of 3 million litres.

Here we produce our wines (vintage, premium, special reserve and signature wines) in American and French oak barrels that house for years stocks that will be ready be enjoyed.

The vines: very much ours

Covila owns 250 hectares of vineyards.

Proud to preserve these vines that were owned by our great-grandparents, grandparents and parents and will in the future belong to our children and grandchildren.

Each vineyard has a history, a family story behind it, and all have been and are today carefully cared for.

Our vineyards, with an average age of 25 years, cover the entire Alava Rioja region, from Lapuebla to Laguardia and Elciego.

We grow tempranillo, the most important variety of D.O.Ca. Rioja, but also Grenache, Macabeo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malvasia, Carignan and Graciano.

We live among the treasures of D.O.Ca. Rioja, Rioja Alavesa. An exceptional land for vine cultivation thanks to its poor and chalky soils and a dry, sunny climate. Surrounded by the Ebro River and protected by the Cantabrian Sierra, our wines display display all their character in this terroir.
